SYSTEMS THIS IS FOR YOU

So I just thought about it, is it possible to have an entire system where every alter is a fictive/introject? Also what other kinds of alters are there? I'm looking into DID more because I myself have a Dissociative disorder and want to know about the other kinds of Disorders under the Dissociative spectrum!(did I use that right??) Anyways is it possible to just have fictive/introject alters and or only have one alter other than the host within the headspace? /gen also hope everyones having an absolutley amazing day/night 1.gif

@Xx4NT0NYMPHxX: yes it is! We have a core as well (technically two but that's alot to explain), so we use that term too! I just forgot to include that in my comment

@asherneedssleep: Ooo alright! I thought abt that too like if someone had a fictive of a character w a peanut allergy if the alter would have the same allergy

yes, there's a lot (there's also others that aren't like, medically recognized, they don't have to be it's very much up to the headmate to identify themselves), the dissociative spectrum that typically involves *a system* would include DID, OSDD (A and B), P-DID, UDD but there's other dissociative disorders besides that (like depersonalization-derealization disorder), yes, and yes.

systemhood is very complex and if you have a question of "is it possible to-" the answer is probably yes. are you experiencing it? that's what matters the most. My system is very fictive-based because we are easily influenced by medias we are interested in, we're also heavily fragmented and layers tend to split off when we're stressed, which are traits of polyfrag systems, but due to a near complete lack of amnesia or communication barriers we do not consider ourselves polyfrag. We have an almost filter through which alters interact with the outside world, which could be perceived as a host to people who are not us, but we don't have a host. We experience intense, almost "phantom limbs" without the "limb" part in regards to in-headspace height, clothing, and even environment, as well as bodies. This is true for human and nonhuman headmates that simply look different or are in a different environment from where we physically are. (all strange little things about our system)

It's an interesting subject.

hello, so, I wanted to elaborate a bit more on what others have said, so here. the amount of introjects a system has does not effect the validity of the system in any way. some systems are very introject heavy, some have no introjects, and some have a few. I've known smaller systems that technically only have introjects, but the introjects have just been around for so long they don't identify with the sources anymore.

what's crucial to remember is that dissociative disorders, specificially those that result in plurality, form from repeated trauma at a young age. introjects of any sort are the culmination of a child feeling unsafe. the brain creates a seperate identity to protect itself from remembering more trauma. introjects often form from a thought process similar to this: "if (insert character or person) was real, then I would be able to (insert need, such as comfort myself or protect myself)."

if it's possible for an alter to form, it's possible for it to be an introject, every single time. I've seen a lot of people fakeclaim sytems who have multiple fictives, especially those who have multiple fictives from a controversial source. but it's simply just people looking for an excuse to hate the source, rather than actual concern for the stigmatization of plurality.

(my writing style is a bit formal, apologies. I'm not mad in the slightest /gen)

yeah it totally is!!!

we're a OSDD-1B system, and we're friends with a lot of other systems! literally about 95% of us are introjects, and one of our friends is a introject-only system! it's totally possible, especially in autistic systems due to the fact that autistic people get special interests and find comfort in characters more often. it's also possible to have only one alter other than the host!!

theres a LOT of different types of alter roles!! alters can have very specific roles, especially fragments, who only have a job to do one thing (ex : we have a fragment who's only job is to give us showers! her name is Joice :3), the most common alter roles however (or the roles you probably will hear about the most) are caretaker, little, persecutor, protector, host, co-host, trauma holder, symptom holder, and avenger.

building on what Saplingsys said about alters having different things going on (like different disabilities) some alters can also have different allergies. for example, a few of my dad's alters have completely different food allergies than the others. like when those alters are out and he eats the foods theyre allergic to he rashes up and gets super sick but when theyre not and he eats those things he's just fine smug
