What kin of string do you recommend for stiff cuffs?

I like to use 1.5 mm glittery bead n stretch but it runs put quickly. So what kind of string do you recommend for stiff cuff cuz I don't like flappy loose ones that you get with elastic no matter how hard you stretch it. I'm thinking about using fishing line so my cuffs come out stiff. So any good string for stiff cuffs?

I know how to do a peyote stitch (the one that u have to start with 2 beads) but I'm really stumped because the flat piece I'm trying to make (the link is above) has 1 bead that u have to start with, not two. and Idk how to start with one 1 bead or what that type of pattern is called. If so how much was it and how did you feel about it? Just whatever stories anyone has.
I'm trying to start mail trades but it seems like a lot of scams are popping up wherever I look. I wouldn't mind sending someone kandi with nothing in return so why lie about it

I want to know how to make this type of cuff!

I got this awesome cuff at a show and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to make it. It's not a multi stitch and I thought it was a peyote but its not. Everything is lined up and the ends are flat. If you know how to make this let me know!
