Any Other Adults on this Site?

I've noticed that most of the userbase here skews pretty young. I guess that's kinda to be expected, but still, is there anyone else around my age here? I feel like a parent at one of those chuck e cheese birthday parties (not trying to be mean, just being silly lol).

I used to make bead animals when I was a little kid at summer camp, and only got back into that a couple months ago. Around that time I also learned about all the other cool stuff you can do with pony beads, which eventually lead me to this site.

Sometimes I worry about wearing my kandi stuff out of the house because people will assume I'm immature or something. Anyone else here relate to that? Have any advice on how to deal with it?

Feel free to share anything else in this thread if you want (how/when you started with kandi, your favorite types of projects, etc). Just trying to make conversation I guess.

I don't worry about seeming immature because frankly there's reasons other than kandi people would think that about me. I've also been to raves wearing kandi and no-one did a weird glance at me then.

I think I started doing kandi stuff in about 2020? I've done it on and off since then. I really like making it but my space is a mess so often it's been hard to set up X-P

ik this thread is a little old but hey im an adult too!!

its funny bc when I first joined this site when I was 14 I feel like everyone was so much older than me but now everyone is so much younger lol

I love wearing my Kandi out in public all the time!! I usually don't really care if people think it's weird, at the end of the day it's what makes me happy yk?

I would totally love to meet other Kandi makers my age! feel free to shoot me a friend request rainbowsmile

(also irrelevant but as I was typing this there was a small earthquake lol)

yes lmaoo

maybe im not much better (ill be 18 in a few days) but it absolutely feels like I'm older than the vast majority of people I see on here

and about wearing it out, I used to often but I don't near as much now cause its just uncomfortable to wear, tho id recommend starting with a couple singles or some other small item and working up if you wanna start wearing any laughing The staring is also something you just kinda get used to tbh

I started making kandi 4-5 years ago cause I found a bag of spare beads and realized I could make cool stuff out of it, and my first item (apart from small things when I was little) was a pretty big rotator cuff (with way too thick of string xD)

usually I like making large cuffs the best, but rn I've been really enjoying making perlers tbh

At the ripe old age of 26, I feel this struggle a lot, like Toasty said the r/kandi community on reddit is super active and has a lot more adults it seems than on this site. I honestly just keep coming back here cause I've used it for literally 13 years almost now and it really is the best place to find patterns so far for me.

I wear kandi all the time tho! Usually I will just wear a couple singles around town and save all my large stuff for festivals and such.

ayup I'm an adult laughing I'm sure there are more of us around, I just don't tend to comment on or make threads. (also if you have reddit there's an r/kandi community and its mainly adults) I don't really wear kandi out much, I much prefer to make it and display it. I usually get stared at anyways because I have pink hair and that's just how it goes, you kinda get used to it.
