How to Turn Pixel Art into Peyote Charms?

ShortofSainthood 1/31/2024 09:31 am 364

I've seen a lot of people make flat charms based off of pixel art, but I'm struggling to make patterns like that on my own. It's really difficult because peyote patterns offset the everything slightly and kandi beads tend to be more oval-like than a perfect circle/square, if that makes sense. Anyway, has anyone else tried doing this? How did you manage to make the patterns while still having them be easily readable? Is there a special process I'm supposed to be doing or am I just supposed to wing it? Thanks.

Theres a website/program called bead tool and it can turn images into bead patterns (you’ll need a pc though

tbh it does get really annoying but i think trial and error might be best. obviously you can't follow the pattern exactly because of the shapes but it still makes for a good guideline sometimes. trying out different orientations helps too (i know you said peyote but you can also make them with the website's multistitch format which might be easier) because of how the beads are, the smaller you go the more inaccurate it gets + some parts are always gonna be a little wonky
