Comfort/leisure fit clothing is comfortable, and you can always accesrorise it a bit. Striped shirts with similar colour kandi, plain shirts with contrasting kandi, etc. If you have an event or it's a special day you could wear a charm necklace or whatever.

I don't know, I'm as basic as a Lipton teabag and a full grown adult and I still get yelled at, afaik for being female and outside of my house. Covid has made it a hundred times worse.

@bunston: hiiii as someone who dresses in pastels and sanrio I can confirm i get harassed for what i wear a lot less. People just think I’m 2 years younger than i actually am crying

i don’t rlly get yelled at, i just wear 3 or 4 on each wrist, a choker, and a necklace. I do slightly non-basic makeup and I have pins in my purse and some converse. Other than that, I dress pretty basic. I wear pink sleeveless tops and skirts usually

(All that aside remember to just like what you like! happy )

I think you should just be, yourself. (unless that puts you in danger/harm, or other people) And if that means you don't fit into sociality standers, then so be it. Plus, People will be assholes no matter what you do. So changing yourself for people Is stupid.

But I didn't write this for my opinion, so here is some tips from a person who has to pretend to be someone else daily

-Plain 1 color t-shirts -Ether tight or baggy blue jeans -Only wear five or else kandi singles, and like, 1 kandi necklace - Jean jackets (blue) - non baggy clothes. -Button up shirts

BASIC STYLES:

Streetwear

Casual

Litterry the style "Basic"

WERE TO SHOP

Walmart, Target, Old navy, really any store that's main stream / popular.

Idk if this will be much else. Because I don't like the idea of being basic or "normal". I like the idea of just, being yourself. Try not to care about what other people think or do (unless there harming someone or themselves) And when people are assholes about how you dress, or who you are, Ether, You tell them to fuck off, and what tf is your problem, Or ignore them. Most of the time they just want a reaction. Anyhow, sorry for rambling. Good luck to you and good vibes <3

pro* Pretend To Be Basic tips from a kid who's in a Very Uncool state for individuality:
- try to align your kandi with your wardrobe when you go out
- wear no more than 6 singles (3 on each arm) and 1 necklace
- from what i know (modern) cottagecore has more muted colors and simple pieces but can still align well with kandi. good colors and charms that mix well with cottagecore are dark greens, beiges, whites, and reds. charms include moths, mushrooms, and fairies
- you could also try at a fashion sense based more around pastels, which work with (predictably /lh) pastel kandi. charms like sanrio stuff, hearts, little stars, and cute animals work well with pastels
- if all else fails, start shopping at old navy and do basic color/theme matching. the pros are you'll be dressing more basic! the cons are nobody will know how cool you really are kao sick

unfortunately, some people will have issues with others no matter what they wear. here's to hoping you're able to get to a less judgemental area soon o7

*disclaimer: i am not a pro, i am 17 and paranoid all the time. so technically a pro i guess dancing tree
