Unfriend me if you want, but it must be said- (SCENE HOT TAKE-)

I'm SO TIRED of how some ppl present the scene subculture!
And no, I don't mean scenecore, although I do hate that XDD
I mean how ppl present actual scene, like... How come when someone asks "What's scene fashion?" the first thing everyone says is "Fishnet fingerless gloves" like, search up "Scene kid" on Google and go to images, how many ppl IN THE 2000S will you see with fingerless gloves? Shiii, I just did it and I only found 2 after scrolling down 5 times- And neither of them were wearing fishnet gloves, they were wearing leather ones! It's SUCH an INSIGINIFICANT part of the subculture yet it's the first thing everyone mentions! .-. When I think of scene accessories I think of diamond shaped necklaces and studded belts, not fishnet fingerless gloves, I'm not sure if it's just becuz ppl like fingerless gloves or what but honestly it gives me vibes of just misunderstanding the subculture- LIKE I'm not saying your not scene if U wear fishnet fingerless gloves (I've typed dat a lot XDD), I think it can work with the scene style! I just don't see it as like- As apart of the subculture as like, studded belts-
And OH DEAR the striped shirts under t-shirts- I'm gonna tread carefully with this one since I have some friends who do this BUUUT- Like fingerless gloves, I'm not saying ur not scene if you wear this, U can wear it if U want, I have a friend who does and they're still scene as ever! I just 100% do not see it as apart of the subculture- Like, ya, some emo kids wore it but notice how I said emo kids, not scene kids- Like u can do it if you want it's just 100% not a scene look imo- Biggest hot take of mine, yes- Like, fr, I don't even know HOW it became associated with the scene subculture like I've NEVER seen a scene kid in the 2000s wear a striped shirt under a t-shirt- I'm prolly just gonna stop here cuz I don't want to upset any friends but- It's just not scene to me- Again U can wear it and be scene but like if you were to make a spreadsheet of inherently scene clothing PLEASE don't add striped long sleeved shirts with t-shirts over em- x_x
And finally, kandi. I think it's scene to wear kandi, yes
But when it's clear that you cared more about piling kandi onto your outfit than... Your outfit
Ugh
Seriously, someone needs to tell today's kids that more kandi does not equal more scene- Fr the more kandi you pile on the more poser u look to me cause it gives me "I can't actually dress scene so I'm just going to pile kandi on to compensate" vibes- Like, some scene kids in the 2000s just never wore kandi PERIOD and they still looked scene so like why do ppl think that "Oh I have to be wearing 2 cuffs on each arm and 20 singles including a kandi perler necklace to look scene!" like NO- X'D
All of these stereotypes are weird cuz like... A good chunk of scene kids in the 2000s actually wore pretty normal clothing- XDD
Finally, if you have any of these looks, I'm not saying your not scene since being scene is linked to the moosic and U can mix and match styles! I'm just tired of people advising aspiring scene kids with these clothing items as if they're inherently scene, y'know? If only ya'll could see my Pinterest boards... =3=
