okkokok so big mac is so so obviously trans heres why (warning: gender dysphoria, mention of death)
some backround on big mac: he is a stalllion, quite big and burly, and has an extremely deep voice, and is part of the apple family (a big brother to apple jack and apple bloom, and a grandson to granny smith)
in "do princesses dream of magic sheep," when they're all in a dream and can do whatever they want, big mac choses to be a princess, and look feminine!
then, in "brotherhooves social," he has to pretend to be a mare for apple bloom to participate. and he finally talks! he only feels comfortable talking when he's "pretending" to be a woman. that is very easy to trace back to voice dysphoria
his voice dysphoria is also hinted at in the episode "where the apple lies". in this episode, we see big mac as a child, before his voice has gotten as deep as it is in the present. he has no dysphoria in this episode, even talking more than the average pony. some may argue that he stopped talking when his parents died. however, in this episode, he and applejack are already in granny smiths care, so that theory is driven to the ground, leaving voice dysphoria as the most logical explanation
if you actually read that thanks have some ice cream
