why do people hate it so much? I understand the members n stuff but why is it that i can't enjoy the lore and non-problematic members without getting bashed 4 it?? i know the "dReAm GeNdEr" crap exists but I really just like the lore and ranboo. ranboos funny.

most ppl hate the dsmp bc a bunch of the members have done shitty stuff, which is why i don't liek it X__X i know that not every streamer is bad (ex: ranboo) but he still supports and hangs out with problematic ppl. but idk, do what u want ig \(0_o)/

i don't think the lore of teh server is problematic, it's just the members who r. but liek i said not every member is bad.

a lot of ppl have said it's problematic, which is true! some of the members, like fundy, schlatt (even tho he's not a member of the dsmp anymore), and minx are problematic.

the fandom used to be a lot more problematic too, it's definitely more chill now (most of us r just here for lore TBH, or we hold our favs accountable) but a lot of people fall for "satire"/joke accounts of being a "sterotypical" dsmp stan (ex : being dreamsexual, stanning dnf, all that sorta stuff), and they think the WHOLE fandom is like that (I promise it's not) but honestly I think telling ppl to DNI, or giving them d34th threats for watching dsmp, or sending hate to someone for liking dsmp is so stupid.

I've said this b4 on an old thread abt dsmp, but it really doesn't matter. everything, and everyone is problematic. nobody is perfect, we're all human, and we all make mistakes. every media we consume is problematic (ex : genshin impact, CRK, homestuck, stranger things, etc) while some people in the dsmp r just horrible people, most things they've been "cancelled" for was taken out of context, SUPER old, or they weren't aware it was harmful.

TLDR: i think ppl just hate it bc it got popular, and at one point the fandom was horrible, it's like the stranger things fandom, everyone loved it at first then it became "cringe" and everyone hates on it now. dsmp has died down a lot, especially with season 1 of the lore ending, and the fact ppl r falling for stupid "satire" accounts, and p0ppytwt (which i promise, the whole dsmp fandom HATES), are the main reasons for hate against chill fans. i can understand ppl hating on certain actual problematic creators but a lot of ppl take it rly far a lot LMAO, just ignore hate from dsmp antis, i promise it's much better than encaging and causing fights.

pretty much all the members have been racist , anti semitic , homophobic , transphobic , i think dr**m once even said he was gonna donate money to an lgbtq+ charity during pride month but then only actually did it after he got called out on the last day of june , possibly more.

also the fandom is absolutely fucking horrid. like the fandom is the most toxic community that i've literally ever seen, and i've seen many toxic fandoms.

as an outsider, its just viewed as cringe by association to those members that are shitty people. ppl will assume you stan the Big Guys in it and dont care about the shitty things theyve done, or that youre one of those weirdo fans who will dogpile on anyone who talks about dream negatively

@CodyMakesKandi: yeah , his lore character lost all 3 lives and hes said he doesnt wanna be associated with the dsmp (he literally banned everyone with dsmp themed users from his twitch chat HUEFUNFEF)
