talk about books. it can be something you love or hate. it can be in depth or just a suggestion (or something to avoid). just talk to me about books.

do everyone a favor and if you spoil something use spoiler warnings 1.gif.

books i love:

nightmares! trilogy- jason segal & kristen miller. this was a staple of my childhood. i remember bodily waiting for each book to some out.goosebumps- rl stine. also a staple of my childhood and baby’s first horror. seriously tho reading this was a defining moment. it got me into horror and what i read and watch today would be completely different if i never read it.salems lot- stephen king. tbh don’t remember specifics about it. it holds a very special place in my heart bc it was my introduction to stephen king. that’s really the only reason why it’s on this list. the movie sucks tho. i have tried watching it 3 times i just can’t get through it.11/22/63- stephen king. recommended to me by my friend/fellow king fan. i love it. definitely up there on my list of fav king books. it is lengthy, but i dont mind long books. i adore the show too.in the tall grass- stephen king. it’s a novella. i watched it after watching the movie. i highly recommend both. i can’t get the ending of the book out of my head.the institute- stephen king. obsessed. i read it in 2 days. i’ve seen it in the store a few times and admittedly was hesitant to try it, but once i started it i couldn’t put it down. mr mercedes (bill hodges trilogy)- stephen king. once i got into it i couldn’t put it down. i couldn’t stop talking about it (sorry leah for talking your ear off). i adore holly gibney. she has to beone of my favorite fictional characters of all time. brady is one of my favorite villains alongside sherlock’s moriarty and macgyver’s murdoc. the show is good pretty good too. they did an amazing job casting holly and brady. this is only about the first book tho, the second two on the other hand….the outsider- stephen king. super dark and went in a direction i did not expect. bonus points for the return of holly gibney. haven’t watched the show yet, but i’ll let you know when i do. tbh i’m hesitant to watch it because the cast is different than mr mercedes, and i don’t think anyone can too justine lupe as holly.nypd red (1&2)- james patterson. i’ve only read the first 2, but the rest are on my list. pretty good. i loved the style of the first one when it was the criminal’s point of view. you can never go wrong with a james patterson crime novel. i died a little inside when i found out he has ghost writers.tik tok (michael bennett book 4)- james patterson. once again. i only realized after reading it that it was part of the series, so i need to go back and read the first few. my copy of the book didn’t say “michael bennett” on it unlike the other ones (i googled it). i could still understand everything that was happening w/o the background info, so if it worked out. because of that factor in reminded me of the kay scarpetta novels.

books i hate:

it- stephen king. i hate this book with a burning passion. as i said before i don’t mind long books. in fact i love them. but this. this was just too much. and there’s a certain scene in there that some of you may be aware about. i hate it. too much unnecessary stuff in there. the movies are better. watch the movies if you want. i saw sophia lillis on the big screen and was like “hm i hope this doesn’t awaken anything in me.”book of the dead (kay scarpetta book ?)- patricia cornwell. my dads a huge fan of these books, so i decided to check it out. not a good introduction to her books. it did not get good until around page 370. there are around 400 pages. it’s a series, although i don’t know what book this is in it, but i believe it’s one of the later ones. i could understand everything going on in it without the background info tho, so that’s good at least.pet sematary- stephen king. hate isn’t the right word for this, overhyped is more like it. i’ve seen the og movie too. i enjoyed both, but i just expected it to be scarier. as i said: overhyped. still worth the read of youre into that stuff tho. finders keepers & end of watch (bill hodges trilogy)- stephen king. the show did these better. the second was okay, just kind of boring. the third on the other hand was not worth my time at all. it took an unexpected turn for the worse. minor spoiler? maybe? it turned supernatural/sci-fi out of the blue. the first 2 books had no supernatural or sci-fi elements what so ever. they did it in the show too but it was better executed there.
