Use a flat surface and instead of like ironing parts lay the iron directly on it with no pressure on a medium heat and 10-15 seconds should do ya good, also iron both sides and when done place a heave book ontop untill cool to make sure it stays flat! If it still has places that arent as ironed as others try waiting for your iron to heat up for 10 minutes ish so it heats evenly

@dragonsparkles: i always iron my perlers on a wooden table. if you have tiled/wood floors in your home you could even iron them on the floor (if the floor is clean). you could also lay something on your glass table like a flat book or a piece of cardboard as a buffer if you are worried about overheating the glass.

make sure your moving your iron in a slow circular motion when youre melting them to make the melt more even! if youre trying to melt them completely flat it will help to turn up the temp of your iron and re-iron focusing on the parts that are still not flat. pay attention to what parts of your iron touch which parts of your perler project and use that information to figure out which sections of your iron get hotter than the rest. using that info you can manipulate what parts of your project get the most heat. also remember that dark colored beads will absorb that heat quicker than colors like white and cream and to give those lighter colors more attention with your iron. hope this helps!
