It's because there is a law that under 13s can't have user accounts on any website without parent permission. All websites have to either remove under 13s if they find any, or ask for parent permission using a specific process which gives the parent control over the account. I have only used the parental permission process a few times in the past because most under 13s aren't supposed to be on here and are unable to receive parental permission. In reality, it's quite stupid if you're a few months away from 13, but that's the law. That's how most laws work. It's not my rule. As an under 13 user, you can still browse the website while logged out and use the patterns.

Leaving this thread up for a little while.

your logic is kinda confusing, you don't really need an account to use this site to make kandi? you can still look at patterns and stuff without needing to log in. and the 13+ thing is just for legal reasons, and in this case it really only applies to people making accounts.

When you make an account on this site, you accept the terms and conditions and the rules state what could happen.

It is a law thing and liability issue

I don’t think this site is as strict about being 12 but in places like Discord if you get reported for being underage you have to send your photo ID. Even if they verify your age if you get reported again your account gets taken down

edit: crumpet uses parental permission. this is probably better anyways than having to send your personal info

it’s more about laws about data collection that actually matters. it depends on where you are in the world but in the us it’s 13. anyone can use this site I think u just need to be 13 to have an accoun

Technically by law yes, many websites (this one included) have a rule saying users must be 13+

Making kandi is something that can be done by anyone though

Generally, site age limits are to comply with rules/laws set by world governments. If a site doesn't comply by the rules, access to that site can be blocked by that government. Or, if the site is hosted (where the data of the site is physically stored, and the computer power that manages sending the site out to users) in one of those countries, it can be sued/taken down entirely.
