went through this myself. i told my other friends i was asking them out and then they just asked them out for me idk, id say something like "ive had feelings (or a crush, idk whatever you think is better) for you for [xyz] amount of time, and would like to be something more than we are, but if you don't feel the same towards me, id still enjoy being friends with you"
