What is the point of typing quirks? /genq

I understand that they look cool in some cases and they are a part of the homestuck fandom, but is there an actual reason for using them? /genq

Sometimes they just really seem pointless and just make it harder to read things

(please no one take any offence to this)

tbh i don't really care just as long as they translate it before or after. typing quirks are horrendous for screen readers to read so it's incredibly annoying when you just hear the letters and numbers being read out individually.

tldr: i don't mind as long as you add a translation either before or after.

i just use them cuz they look cool & it's like a fun little visual stim :^)

most people do it for the aesthetic, i dont really mind them as long as they're translated but the people who refuse to translate them are just...

@Sleepy_Loss: So I'm going to end up using this as an example. So one of our alters, 3rr0r, this is his preferred way of speaking/typing. They ALWAYS will let whoever know if a translation is needed, one of our alters can translate. NONE of us mind. -Foxy

i use typing quirks when im with ppl i know can read them bc its fun for me to do !! obvs i can stop if it makes it harder for people to read !!

some people do it for asetheic (I can neva spell that word), others do it bc its eaiser for them. i do it because it makes it fun to read (at least to me)
