Is the clear string really that bad ;-;

Deleted Account 5/5/2021 08:52 am 2681

For the majority of my projects, I've used the clear string. And every time I watch a tutorial, they always say something along the lines of "pls don't use the clear string it bad" and uhhhh so far nothing has fallen but uh-

IS ALL MY KANDI GONNA FALL APART??? NOW I'M LIKE SUPER WORRIED-

its not THAT bad, but tbh the elastic string is a lot easier to work with. also in the past i found that knots dont stay very well with the clear string

I KNOW SOME TYPES OF CLEAR ELASTIC IS BAD, BUT IM SURE SOME TYPES REALLY HOLD UP! ONE OF THE MAIN PROBLEMS I HAVE WITH CLEAR ELASTIC IS THAT IT DOESN'T HOLD KNOTS AND IT DOESNT LAST AS LONG AS THE FABRIC ELASITC.

it depends on what your making! if its a small charm (and you dont pull to tight) it should be fine but if you use it to make the base of a cuff it might be hard-ish to get on ^^

i actually heard that stretch magic dry rots over time? im not entirely sure what that means but i guess it becomes dry and brittle over the years. i have also noticed that stretch magic starts to yellow over time too, but it still works fine for the stuff i do? but yes i would highly recommend fabric covered elastic because it's stretchier and stronger!! some dollar stores have it near the bead/craft section (if they have one)
