Ohhhhhh yeah. For me I'm gonna say it was a combination of really early emotional trauma, undiagnosed near constant anxiety, complete inability to identify with that period's hardcore gender roles (I'm fine with my gender, just not the absolute societal nonsense assigned to it at the time), and possible neurodivergence. Actually I knew I was human, but not entirely sure about a lot of other people.

Also if people ask you what you want to be when you grow up and you say, "A lion," they think you're weird. I mean if you didn't want to know, why did you ask?

Roar.

for me it was bc i grew up having small signs of schizophrenia and i was AFAB and acted like a boy growing up (i used to not wear shirts when i was young at home, i had short hair for the longest time when i was younger, i was mistaken for a boy a lot of times, and my parents didn't force me into a "female norm" head space and they didn't necessarily care what i wore and/or how i acted) some of these things are why i am trans lol but not all the reasons

it's different for everyonethumbsup

@traves: Voidpunk is a subculture with dehumanized groups that are normally desired as "the rejection of the human identity, and embracing being nonhuman"

I identify as Voidpunk because I feel like I have been rejected, others might have a different feeling, and it just makes me feel better, you could call it a comfort thingy, and I also identify because it gives me closer to who I am

It is almost exclusively for groups and individuals who face dehumanization by society as a whole, like people who are aroace, nonbinary, neurodivergent, and or disabled, and ofc many more!

People sometimes make voidsonas! pretty much to represent there experiences or personal ideas of being voidpunk!!

@traves: perhaps! There were other factors in our case but overall we don't identify as human currently either. Maybe we will someday, but not right now. Maybe I'll dual boot. (like where you have 2 operating systems on one computer-machine but w/ my species self identification)
