My BFF loves mcyts but I’d rather die than watch mcyts

she keeps bringing up mcyts and I wanna give them proof that that they are awful ppl but every time she keeps screaming and cursing at me.

I start shaking really hard bc if it and she acts like she isn’t the reason.

When I give her proof, her only explanation is “ur taking it out of context” or “why is it so serious to you” like, well, idk, maybe , just maybe, it’s effects me directly and is harming my communities

I love her to death but I also wanna sock her in the face sometimes.

I totally agree. My best friend watches the dream smp too and I hate it. They make me so uncomfortable because of all the toxic stuff they've done and he (my best friend) knows that they're really problematic but he just ignores it

What your friend is saying is wrong.

However, not all people in the fandom are like that. The reason so many of us get defensive when you bring up what they've done is because mcyts are a source of comfort for a lot of us.

Of course, what they've said should not be ignored, but if someone is trying to watch them without supporting them (watching reuploads and stuff), and recognizes what the members have done wrong, leave them alone please.

@trickster_brostrider: its deeper than that. “Just leave” isn’t an option. I don’t think you knew what i meant when i said “bff” I’m not dropping her. End of story.

I made this bc I’m frustrated that she wont even listen to me when i provide her w proof.

Don’t think of it as someone i can just leave within a minute. Months to years at the least

but she doesn’t just watch them, she supports them even if she kn owns the inside and out of how they r awful ppl

@Gay: tolerate her talking about them without watching them yourself then. my gf and little sis are HUGE mcyt fans, and I don't give a shit about the smp. I love minecraft but I can't sit through 5 hour lore streams. But I tolerate them, I let them infodump to me, because I love them. You can tolerate them without caring about their interests in that way.

the solutions don't have to be "get her to stop watching mcyt all together" or "become a mcyt superfan yourself"
