one of my friends has been making perlers for years and when kandi started to get popular on tiktok, I thought it was really cool and I wanted to try it for myself (this was around June to October of 2020 I’m pretty sure?) so eventually I asked my parents for pony beads and string for Christmas and I’ve been making kandi ever since

i was into pony bead stuff when i was a kid, i used to go to the craft events at micheals lol, i didnt find out that it was a whole big thing called kandi until like 6 yrs later when a girl at my school started making it too

i still have sum old old kandi somewhere i rly wanna find em

I do not have a memory unfortunately but I remember being excited about finding some old stretchy string in a cabinet somewhere and beads at some random store

Pinterest, and tiktok, but most of all my big sister, she used to be a scene kid n she used to make kandi all the time, she's alt still now but more metal, and nu goth so ya lol

well i saw my cousin wearing some basic singles with like shapes and the XZ thing me and her made up and then when i got to middle school the kid in the grade above me wore it so i got interested then we became friends because i looked like a looser emo kid so ye they made me some kandi and then i started and i am obsessed now so ye, thats how it all started<3

I was watching a tiktok comp on youtube and someone was sharing their kandi collection and I was like "bro, that looks cool as fuck" Then a while later I went to Joann's to get more supplies to make a pop tab bracelet for this girl in my class and came upon some pony beads and string. I decided to get a big ass bag of them and start my kandi journey purely for fun. Now it has turned into my #1 coping mechanism
