The biggest debate... what are your feelings on selling kandi.?

I feel that kandi is an art and every artist loves to be rewarded for their hard work... and some backgrounds just can't afford to give away kandi... the materials aren't free.... I'm just saying....

"ohaidakotahhh": And I think it's really dumb to bash people on selling kandi, because that's just being hypocritical if you're running around yelling PLUR in everyones faces I like the way you put things. That reminds me of someone being rude and jumping on my case about it and she said I was ruining the culture behind it. Well, she sure wasn't being all PLUR about it.

I think it's wrong either way you look at it. Kandi is a sign of friendship, yes? You wouldn't sell or buy friendship, so why sell or buy kandi?

I think it's okay to sell it. I just find it more rewarding to trade and make it yourself.

Me only being 15 is only a contributing factor to how hard it is to get a job and my dad being out of work and my mother having a minimum wage job its hard for me to come across money to do activities with friends so I started selling kandi to lift a little weight off my moms shoulders. Plus if I didn't sell them I wouldn't be able to get money to buy more beads to make more things. So I say if your selling it to help with other things I think its perfectly fine.

I sell only certain pieces that are too hard or too time consuming for others to do. Making kandi is something I enjoy doing while watching tv, and I enjoy making others happy. The only reason I even sell my kandi and perler creations is to turn over the money to get more supplies to make more. As kandi is becoming ever more popular with people who don't rave, the suppliers are noticing, and supplies are becoming more expensive. so, i say, go on sell your kandi, just dont overprice it and be a d-bag.

Personally I have no problem with selling kandi, I will give away singles but I do charge for cuff's or bigger projects because it is simply time consuming and the materials aren't free I truthfully see it somewhat a job but also spreading what I believe in. I know quite a few people who after receiving kandi from me started making their own.

@Halodiablo I love wearing my kandi to school my kandi is part of me. there's only one other kid at my school who does it also but i feel like by wearing kandi to school people ask me why does that cuff say PLUR? then i have a chance to tell them about what i believe in. It's pretty cool, i'm like a walking billboard big grin In addressing the selling/not selling issue i feel like selling singles is just rude. anyone can string a few beads together and tie a knot. but selling to people who really want kandi but don't have the connections yet to have it given to them or the abilities/$$ to make stuff to trade that's o.k.

I sell kandi, so obviously I'm not against selling it lol, the way I see it is that I'm helping out someone else (of course it's going to be at a cost though I'm not freakin Bill Gates over here tongue) A lot of people have trouble making kandi, either they don't have enough time, or they just don't understand and can't get the concepts (trust me I've tried teaching A LOT of people and most of them just don't get it). I see it as helping someone out, they want kandi but they can't make it so they ask me to make it for them at a price. From what I see I sell my stuff pretty cheap depending on the size someone wants and all that. A lot of sellers online or on Etsy sell their cuffs/bras/skirts/ etc for insane prices. I'm still making every piece (even if it's for profit) with the same amount of love and dedication for each customer. I don't look down on them for not being able to do it themselves, I'm more than happy to help them out in any way. PLUR right?
