I think there's a lot of ways to interpret it, but it could be because one is femininely aligned in ones gender, one finds that "lesbian" describes them well, the fact that the white stripe in the flag i believe is to represent non-binary and other identities, and just convenience in general, as i've seen some people say they dont like other labels made for when they like women as a non-woman (i.e Trixic, neptunic, etc)
