I'm about to piss myself off with this but lolz- x_x BEFORE I GO TO BED >:3 What's your biggest alternative hot take? O.o Mine is that is bugs me when people are like "We have to bring the 2000s back! Rawring 20s!" yet at the same time go "Normalize not vibing to the social construct of fetishizing systematic toxic stimulationing gaslighting so you can retrieve non-problematic mental vibes" like if your going to parade "Living in the 2000s" around then drop that 2022 talk. And if you aren't... Still drop it, it's stupid and you just sound like your trying too hard to sound smart, lol
I'll take my unfriendings now- X'DD

oh also i think this has already been said but eh: the glorification of overconsuming energy drinks (yes, ik i probably sound like one of those people you mentioned but im trying to make a point here), especially by younger people (im talking like as young as 11/12) in this newer "alt" scene is... honestly borderline disturbing if not very very concerning at the least. energy drinks are not made to be consumed in large amounts and doing so is extremely unhealthy for your body. im not saying drinking them every so often is bad, but ive seen people brag about drinking way more than enough in a single day. it doesnt make you cool and it doesnt make you trendy, all it does is promote unhealthy habits and make you look really stupid.

i mean yeah, i won't deny it, monster cans look really pretty! i love the colors, both on the can and the tabs. but there's gotta be some other way to obtain them, right? idk about the cans, but this company called the beadery (youve probably seen them in craft stores before, joanns and beadtin carries a lot of their stuff) sell these colorful plastic can tabs. if you want pretty can tabs, go find those!!! and fanta has some colorful cans.

[tl;dr: bragging about how many energy drinks you drink in a day is incredibly harmful and only makes you look stupid. go drink water dude.]

alternative is a stupid term. you're generalizing many aesthetics and cultures into one term. they're all very different and there's no need for it rrly. i think it's too broad of a term. i dont rrly think you should put them all in one group. it's sort of like saying someone is dressing 'asian' because they're wearing a barong, and then saying it's the same (or basically the same) as someone wearing a dobok. they're very different and labeling them as asian as opposed to filipino and korean is hurtful to both cultures involved. i think that it's the similar with the term alternative. idk idk :')

@SleepinqZzz: i have to disagree, we really cant compare people's ethic and regional cultures to the clothes/polotical/music culture that would be considered alt. i get what you mean, alt is a really wide umbrella term and doesn't really specify much but i don't think its problematic or offensive to generalize with stuff like that

@gummilud: yeah i didn't really enjoy using ethnic cultures as an example either because i felt like i was comparing a big umbrella term i disliked to racism but i couldn't think of a better example off the top of my head

@SleepinqZzz: Nah, nah, I actually agree, I fucking hate the word too XDD I just have no clue what else to use, any suggestions?
