please note: i’m not referring to anyone specifically, it’s more of a general thing!

something that bothers me is seeing people making and selling perlers of other people’s pixel art.

obviously there are exceptions, such as if it’s for personal use (not to sell) or if the original artist allows selling copies, but i’ve seen a lot of perlers of pixel art i recognize (without any credit to the artist) on etsy and other places.

as a pixel artist myself, i’m always scared i’ll see one of my pixel arts being sold. it’s kinda like- you wouldn’t print someone else’s art on a tshirt and sell it, but pixel art is seen as fair game.

another thing is that a lot of perler patterns on here are copied off of pixel art, which is okay (depending on the original artist) if you’re just making it for yourself, but it also means that people might make and sell it even if that’s against the artist’s wishes- or even without knowing who the original artist is.

i don’t mean to step on any toes, and i apologize if this comes off as rude or confrontational. it’s just something that’s been bothering me for a while!
