so i wanna dress more scene and really get into the fashion, but i need tips. starting with my hair. i don't have bangs (i have an egg forehead) and my hair is kinda wavy-ish?? can somebody tell me how i can kinda get scene hair?? i would ask to get it cut that way, but have a feeling my mom wouldn't let me 2.gif

also does anybody have any recommendations on where to buy clothes / accesories? i did get a $50 dollar hot topic gift card for christmas so i know i'll use that 1.gif

r u going for real scene (2007~2013 is the general range of when scene was alive, it was MUCH later than emo.) or liek 2020 'scene'...

first of all... scene was very influenced by music, but alot of scene folx did listen to emo music. THIS (spotify) playlist has a mix of emo and scene, but scene (crunk) music was verrryyy different than emo music.

onto da fashion: real scene was really just emo but colorful. think colorful and bold band tees (try to get old band tees of the classics liek brokencyde dot dot curve etc, colorful animal print, colorful gag shirts (these can even be found at walmart sometimes! just gotta poke around), or a few of my fav brands.. ride or die clothing (website) or newbreed girl (website). onto da pants... colorful/patterned skinny jeans, tights with shorts or a tutu, etc.

silicone bracelets of ur fav bands, gags, etc are everythingg. i find a lot of mine on mercari, ebay, other resell sites. kandi was either not at all included/very minimum during the time period though. and necklaces were pretty popular, especially of mustaches and cupcakes. (wat was da obsession w them XDD) shoes were mostly childrens flats, vans, and FAT SKATER SHOES. these wrre a staple LOLL think DCs, osiris and others.

scene itself was very consumerist. u can probably find a lot of these finds at thrift shops too, i found a baggie of a jack skellington and ptv bracelets once. (the ptv bracelets were very broken though.. da pain >.>)

and finallyy hair lol. if u want a scene cut, LOOK AT TUTORIALS ON HOW TO STYLE IT FIRST. i promise its not as easy as it looks when you first start. lots of hairspray and thin combs/teasing combs.

idk where to get shirts and stuff cause mine were handme downs from my sister and brother but i get my jeans and shorts from ross and old navy, I get my leggings/fishnets from Spirt Halloween (when it was open), my sister does my hair sooo idk about that either (she used to be a scene kid in like 2007-2016) but other than that I have alot of band suggetions if you also want thos-

Edit: ok soooo you can get shirts at hot topic and spencers and you can also get fake peircings/extentions at spencers too! its just a little expensive-

for the clothes here are some websites that have scene clothes big grin, also getting clothes from thrift stores n flee markets n bargain stores is good too

https://silent-scream-clothing.creator-spring.com/...

https://www.invaderscene.com/

https://pawstar.com/home (this isnt specifically scene but they have some cute hats)

ebay, etsy, depop, maybe thredup, redbubble if you find something good lmao

also for pants skinny jeans, tutus, studded belts, those vans buckle belts, and jean shorts are pretty good

for shoes vans, demonias, dr martens, converse, knee high converse n probably more are also pretty good : D

for shirts in general 2000s bright colored t-shirts, sleveless/t-shirt jackets, anything with stripes/zigzagz/cheetah print/leopard print etc are good, hello kitty shirts, domo shirts, invader zim shirts, sweat shirts, tank tops, cami tops (?) are pretty good lolz

@ferristhegreat: okay!!! my aunt works at claires and i got a gift card so i'm gonna get hair extensions big grin

Jan 6, 2022 6:21 am

you can get colorful hair extensions if your mom won't let you dye your hair? or you can get alot of butterfly clips and put them in your hairrainbowsmile

Jan 6, 2022 5:34 am

go to claires (or any place you can get colorful clip in extensions), and buy a hair extension from there, then take a permanent marker and put stripes in the extension to make racoon tails and just clip it in! no bangs required happy i dont have bangs either and this worked for me
