can you make kandi masks using perler beads instead of pony beads? - algae

dont have a lot of pony beads but i wanna try using perler beads with string instead, ive tried before but i couldnt get the ratio of pony beads to perlers right, can somebody help, i know im not the only person whos tried this - algae

@pocketcosmic: thank you so much, I started on my own kind of eyeballing it, not finished yet as I’m not hyper fixated as much on Kandi anymore but I’ll let you know how it goes and what rows I used! - algae

A standard pony bead is about 6mm tall, 9mm wide. A Perler bead is 5mm tall 5mm wide. The basic mask is 21 columns wide and 15 rows tall. So i would start with (6×21)/5=~25 rows wide and (9*15)/5=27 rows tall. I'm sure there will still be some experimenting, especially when it comes to the triangles. But I'm curious to see how it goes!
