ok so my most recent ex goes to my school and i still really really want to be friends with them bc i care dearly about them but i don't even know if they want anything to do with me. plus my current bf doesn't really want me to talk to them bc apparently talking to exes is a big red flag? like i truly want to be close friends with my ex again because like i said, i care dearly about them.

should i talk to my bf more about it? should i not be friends with them bc of my bf? like i don't want my relationship to affect a friendship i truly want

Your S/O can not tell you what to do. You are your own person. Though, communication is key in relationships. And he might not be trying to control you in the first place. You never know unless you talk to each other. Good luck though. relationships can be very tricky sometimes.
