Is anyone else’s school this way

I’m in my senior year of high school and I only need to take 2 classes to graduate (math n English), but the school says I need to take a full 7 class schedule. So instead of just going to school for like 2 hours, I’m stuck doing random art electives for 8 hours. I legit just sit and watch YouTube majority of the day

It’s even worse because the job I really want and qualify for is hiring, but the school says I have to waste my time!

Sorry if this is random and pointless, I just wanted to know if anyone else is in this situation

my other school was almost the opposite where it would require an insane amount of credits compared to other schools and then would use that to intentionally hold back students in some off cases and say that they needed to go to the school district for longer to get the rest of the credits (though that came back to bite them in the a$$ as of recently)
