trans umbrella folks! (cw: dysphoria talk)

Heya! whats something random that gives you dysphoria? i feel like theres some things that could be considered odd to people who haven't experienced it.

for me, im non-binary (afab) and wearing a towel around myself in the stereotypically 'feminine' way makes me really dysphoric. its odd, because i dont typically experience dysphoria very often.

skirts also bother me (but only sometimes oddly enough. thats pretty standard though.)

edit cuz i thought of stuff later: my voice bothers me sometimes. some people tell me they hear it differently than i do or that they think its deep, but for some reason if i hear it in recordings or something its just so squeaky and high pitched.

also, being called typically feminine terms doesnt usually bother me, but like, my brother calls me "young lady" sometimes and i dont like it.

so, what about yall? common or uncommon dysphoria experiences, share away!!

for me a lot of the time it's my posture and just the way i idle while standing. it might sound a bit confusing/weird but everytime i become aware or concious of the way im posed, how im standing, or generally just my outward stance i feel really "dainty" and frail. this often makes me wish to not be a physical being at all, but an unattached gender neutral voice. another thing is when i lose control of how i laugh, and it comes out as a really high pitched giggle, which i despiseee kao sad i can also relate to a bunch of the previous comments here, especially the ones about tight, form-fitting clothes and being called feminine things like "Miss" or "Ma'am".

For me being called a $1#r or misgendered doesn't even feel that bad. For me it's being out with my mom, and someone calls us "ladies". It makes me want to just lay down and cry for the rest of my life

Already commented on here but i thought of something else- I hate being called "Sweetie". For the end-of-the-year testing earlier this year, I had to do my science test in this old 8th(9th? idk) grade math teacher's classroom and she wouldn't stop calling me "sweetie". plus she was just overall terrible (i cried after i finished the test-) i really hope i never have her as my math teacher-

@Sprout_Makes_Kandi: omg yes! the only thing is that for some reason sometimes someone says ma'am and like.. i'm transmasc so EW, but also ma'am gives such a weird sense of superiority idk if i love it or hate it XDD

transmasc here - when you're walking with a button-down and it blows open with the wind, also when the wind blows your hair up... wind is transphobic crying

edit: omg also when you're wearing a necklace and it sits right above your chest which makes it stand out more... bleeegh so uncomfy even though i love jewelry ToT

I very rarely experience dysphoria, but one thing is being called Miss. I. Hate. It. So. Much. OMGG

It’s kinda odd though cause I don’t mind other feminine terms like gf, queen, girly, etc.

That’s all I can think of that would be odd lo

"cute words" kinda trigger me when i hear them- also "cute things" that "girls are into" such as the color pink and whatever else cis girls are into- OH ALSO! THE CLOTHES IN THE GIRLS SECTION THAT SAY THE POSITIVE MESSAGES ON THEM!

anything "girly" like skirts etc, clingy/tight clothing (gives me sensory issues on top of the dysphoria), necklaces (exception for kandi), and longish hair (transphobe parents won't let me cut it uuuuugh)
