i wanna make a kandi belt but structurally idk how to go about doing that
im def gonna make it peyote, but im not sure what type of string i should use. it needs to be a functional belt bc i wear boy's pants, and since im afab/female-bodied its a bit loose at the waist. i also have a pair thats one size too big (i pinned it tho) that i bought bc my size was out.
i have 1mm clear stretch string, 1 and 2mm fabric stretch cord, and .5mm fishing line.
i was thinking i could use the fishing line, but im afraid it wont hold knots.
the 1mm fabric string i have is definitely stretchy, but the 2mm is a little less, almost like a hair tie. its also very hard to make anything but singles with bc its so thick that it needs, like, brute force to get it through an already-strung bead lol. ive made a strap for my nintendo switch case with the clear stretch string and havent seen it stretch, nor has it broken yet (thankfully). it does stretch with some force tho, so idk how good it would be as a belt since it would have to be pretty tight and might stretch under the force, rendering it useless or (god forbid) broken in the middle of a public bathroom while im just trying to take a piss.
any ideas? im open to buying new materials/string if need be, as long as its not crazy insane expensive.
(oh, and i might be able to figure this one out on my own, but if anyone has any ideas or tips on how to make the buckle, esp a kandi/perler buckle, that would be cool too! it doesnt have to be adjustable tho since i would make it to my own measurements anyways.)
any help is appreciated!! :3
