I've made a "purse" bag and I'm working on a "pouch" bag.

For the "purse" I made one looong peyote panel for the front, back, bottom and top flap. I then made two smaller panels for the sides. I sewed them together and I have no idea what I did for the strap honestly, it's weird but it works. I used elastic here- DON'T do this.

for the "pouch" I'm making somewhat of a really long x-base cuff and i'll make it taper to an end when I like how big it is. Or I'll end it and sew it together.

hi, so here’s some tips.

using fishing line can help it keep shape and not stretch

Making your design beforehand

the sides are basically just large peyotes, and you just tie together everything. It’s not too complicated it just takes time, goodluck

Ok so one thing I recommend is making the panels separately at first and then putting them together at the end. Another one is try not to use elastic and instead aim for something sturdier like fishing line or crystal coard.

so, i actually just made a clown purse i found on here! i made all the panels for it individually and then stitched them together. for the strap, i just used a piece of fabric and stitched it into the beads. you could also make your own strap out of a 3 or so row of peyote, if that makes sense. please let me know if i need to elaborate more. for stitching the panels together, i just weaved in and out between the beads. The string i used is called "s'getti string" and it worked very well for me. this was my first purse i've made, so i feel like i wasn't descriptive in thisplaycat1

i found a youtube video that might help if you need a visual, here's the link:
