How do you get over someone..?

So like.. today at school I saw someone that I used to be with until a few months ago. We were together for 8+ months and then on Valentines day they were just like "I don't like you like that anymore" and it absolutely crushed me, mostly because it was on Valentines day and for how long we had been together.. I had even asked them to be my valentine a few days beforehand and they said yes so... :/

Anyways, the point is when I saw them I kinda broke down and started crying AT SCHOOL but my friends comforted me so I love them <33

How do you get over someone fully and completely..? I still do have memories and a little feelings for them that I don't know how to get past 514c8a292433e_w37.gif

@tony_maroj: Thank you!!! hkheart

I know I shouldn't still be caring about them anymore because it has been so much time.. And I know that everyone will be hurt at least once in their life. Maybe I should start being happy that they are happy, and then find my own happy as well <3

@Quartz: I think that is the best advice ever and sometimes it doesn't get easier btw... But it's different for different people and it really depends on the type of relationship and length of it as well!

For example: I was in a few relationships ALL women btw...and YES ... I'm gay! But I tried to be normal (much to my dismay it wasn't worth it.) My point is... No matter what... Your bound to get hurt, all you can do is take from that experience and learn from it!

So I guess I'm saying that time marches on and we all have to live our lives each day to the fullest! Carpe deum or seize the day! Don't let a broken heart stop you from finding that someone who can make it whole again!

I hope this helps you out sweety!

Best regards,

Well, the only thing you can really do is be kind to yourself, and give yourself time. It's okay to remember any good times you had with them, and to acknowledge the feelings you still have, but just don't let that nostalgia stop you from living the life you have in the present. Little by little, it'll get easier, and one day you won't cry at all when you see them. But give yourself grace in the meantime.
