Get a box of beads from a craft store (michaels is really expensive, i wouldn't recommend unless you have a coupon), you can buy string on amazon too, i like the kind that looks like floss, dollar tree also has elastic cord you can buy. Crystal string is hard to tie.

dollar tree also has beads, mostly pastel ones and clear beads. Great for getting started! happy

here's the string i use, i cant view the page because ebay is blocked on my chromebook. /safe

For in person stores Joann's Walmart and Dollar Tree and really good and cheap!
Beatin and Amazon are both great places online to get beads. Beadtin doesn't sell string so your best bet is to buy a big spool of string from Amazon

Some good beads to get are clear, metallic, and opaque pony beads, star beads, special beads and letter beads!
For string 1-1.5mm cloth covered elastic cord is really good, you might also want to get non-elastic string too in case you want to make panels, charms or masks

@Valen_: actually beadtin does sell string!! if you click the menu (the three lines) to the left of the beadtin logo at the top, there’s different types of string in the accessories section happy /nm
