What Do Your Non-rave Friends Think Of Your Kandi?

Vicktato 7/22/2012 04:53 pm 2898

A few of my friends think it's cool and that I'm talented, and a few others think it's over the top, and stupid. I want to know, what do your non-rave friends think of your kandi?

They don't realize how much te kandi means to me. They think that all it is , is making beaded bracelets and wearing them. I have told them it means so much more like friendship but they just don't get it.

Most people like my kandi and want me to make them some but then theres this one dude who destroys my kandi whenever he gets the chance. But most of my teachers call my kandi armour.

well everyone has mixed opinions. But I'll start with my dad, he hates it and has legitimently called me a whore for wearing it and refuses to take me anywhere if I am wearing it. My guy friends are skeptical about it, but they knew I was an odd one anyways so they just accept it and sometimes ask me if all i wore was really nessecary. A bunch of my girl friends absalutely love it and have me make some for them and I have gotten a few to start making it with me. I have a couple rave friends who give me shit about it but that really doesnt matter to me because truthfully I know more about the culture, and I live by PLUR and they dont. Sorry for the long post!

Random people: A lot of people think its weird and stupid but a lot of people think its amazing and cool how we can make things like cuffs, bags, wallets, posters, 3D things etc... I get complemented on my kandi a lot and some people ask where I buy them and I say I made them and they just look like this: O_O into this: big grin Friends: Most of my friends think its amazing and cool and they ask me to make them stuff all the time xD I usually run out of beads for myself~ I went to school once with like 12 singles on both arms and people just kept coming up to me and were like "Where did you get those bracelets?" "Did you make them?" "Can you make me one?" Its awesome that kandi is getting popular because kids/teens keep seeing it on the internet and I know ravers/kandi kids hate when scene people where kandi but it actually gets people into it (for example AmberKatelynBeale when she was "scene" [age 12-15] she always wore singles and now most of her fans know what kandi is!! ^^)

my dad doesnt understand it. my mom keeps saying i should sell them >_< my friends think theyre cool, i guess. they always say "wow thats a lot." whenever i wear kandi to school (like even just 4 singles on each arm) my history teacher says "cant fit any more on your arms?" but i like wearing it because where i live, nobody else does unless i give it to them c: so i like being different.

I haven't had any bad experiences or reviews yet, however I'm still relatively new to it all ^^; My parents are completely amazed by it, my mom even asked me to make her one just to keep! Every once in a while they suggest that I could make alot of money from it, but I just act like I didn't hear them >.<; My friends are also completely amazed ^^ they have asked me if they could buy it off of me before, though I refused of course. They also hinted at me making some for them. They think it's pretty, unique, and creative. Once again, some of them think I should sell them on Etsy or have an artists table at an anime con and sell them, but as usual I just act like I didn't hear it or just ignore it or whatever. The other day I walked into Michaels for some beads and the cashier kept staring at them, as well as the lady checking out behind me, when it was my turn to check out he asked if I made them and was completely shocked when I said yes. Both said they were beautiful ^^~
