how did all of you learn what kandi was?

personally i learned about kandi maybe two months ago, i have been doing perler beads for a while, so i looked up patterns, then i came accross this website, so i looked around and searched up what a bunch of things were (like kandi cuffs, ties, mask etc.), thats how i learned!513b39525d246_dance.gif

My friend gave me one. That's how I learned about Kandi and got a new friend. Seriously though, my friend before they were my friend ran up to me and said "Do want this Kandi bracelet I made? I made it but I kinda wanted it to be in blue, and not green." Thanks @Ross_TallyHallFan for that bracelet and thanks for making my life better and worse by existing rainbowsmile

Used to have an account on a website called perlerpad, it's really similar to this one - they changed the name to kandipad and added the ability to make patterns for peyote kandi

i was bored one day in school and searched up something Cookie Run related, i forgot the specifics . . but it lead me into a discussion thread on this site; i have been using it since. ^_^"

my friend made me a pattern of Kuropi bc hes my favorite and i randomly found this and now i've made Nine (XFOHV/BFDI) and Airy! (HFJONE/ONE)

I was on "alt tiktok" in late 2020 so I found out from there. I don't remember exactly when.

I learned about it about two years ago but I believe when I got easter money I ordered some beads from amazon and slowly went down rabbitholes of more and more complex bead patterns and somewhere down that pipeline figured out what kandi was and then rave culture by extension
