I'm about to piss myself off with this but lolz- x_x BEFORE I GO TO BED >:3 What's your biggest alternative hot take? O.o Mine is that is bugs me when people are like "We have to bring the 2000s back! Rawring 20s!" yet at the same time go "Normalize not vibing to the social construct of fetishizing systematic toxic stimulationing gaslighting so you can retrieve non-problematic mental vibes" like if your going to parade "Living in the 2000s" around then drop that 2022 talk. And if you aren't... Still drop it, it's stupid and you just sound like your trying too hard to sound smart, lol

I've seen people say that only alt people should drink monster which just sounds dumb cause it's just an energy drink and nothing else. If you're alt and drink monster that's cool and if you're not alt but really need that energy boost for something then go-ahead it's made to give you energy. This shouldn't even be a debate but here we are.

@xXJustJoking8P: yeah, its bootlaces. it means something if youre in the punk / anarchist / skinhead scene. its [to some extent] regional too, but it became so vwell knowvn that cops are still educated on the big ones [red, vwhite, and blue]. ill givwe you a list of the ones im avware of. its also vworth noting that this only applies to boots that are ladder laced.

black: doesnt mean anything
vwhite: vwhite supremacist
red: neonazis
orange: straight edge
yellovw: anti-racist [or SHARP if you livwe in an area vwhere they are prominent]
green: neutral / anti-racist
blue: can mean anything from acab to cop killer. i dont recommend vwearing these in public [especially to protests and the like]
purple: lgbt
black + vwhite: racial unity / ska

@jUggal0_pUppY: I seeeee o3o From what I'm seeing I think it's specifically if your docs are ladder laced, then the code applies- Either way I agree with the hot take, this is just confusing, lmao X'''D I think it'd make sense if it was something you had to like ask about like "Hey, I noticed your" I dunno uhhh- .-. "Yellow latter laced docs, are you in the punk scene?" instead of it being like "YO ARE THOSE WHITE LADDER LACED DOCS!? GET EM, BOIS- >:V" but then again maybe that is how it works, idk, I'm not punk- ANY PUNKS PLEASE COME AND SETTLE THIS WE'RE CONFUSED- X'DD

@jUggal0_pUppY: I'm searching it up, yes, it seems that lace code only applies when the boots are ladder laced which... Ehhh, idk, that feels... Inefficient to me? Ladder laced shoes don't look that bad so I can imagine someone just wearing their shoes laced like that cuz they like it, it'd suck if someone got mistaken for a white supremacist just because they like their shoes ladder laced- But I honestly don't care as long as people aren't jumping some 14 year old with ladder laced Converses-

Edit: I'm an idiot, I just realized it only applies when it's specifically ladder laced DOCS not literally any other shoe-

@_icosa_: Nvm, I searched it up- Dosen't seem like an emo/scene thing so at least I don't have to stress over that- I 100% agree tho like I get it if it's like a punk thing but if someone's not even punk it obviously dosen't apply to them. I'm scene and wear black shoe laces cuz that's what my shoes came with and I'm not... *Checks list* new in the scene? Or in the scene at all? I mean, dude, it's fucking shoelaces WHY CAN'T PEOPLE JUST LIVE LMAO-

@_icosa_: Yo, what's lace code? I'm guessing it refers to shoe laces, right? Personally I feel like you can wear your shoelaces however you want, I mean, they're just shoelaces- But does it actually mean anything orrr...?

i dont think any of my unpopular takes are too spicy, but one might be that i think lace code is obsolete. im not going to panic if i see someone vwith red laces. a lot of alt kids and emos vwear red laces because it looks fucking sick if you can pull it off. people freak out ovwer vwhite or red laces in boots like ??? thats the laces the boots came vwith. its not questionable unless you intentionally ladder lace them. i mean be avware of lace code anyvway, especially if youre a punk / skinhead. but dont go after people for havwing colored laces vwhen theyre not evwen in the punk scene.
