I'm about to piss myself off with this but lolz- x_x BEFORE I GO TO BED >:3 What's your biggest alternative hot take? O.o Mine is that is bugs me when people are like "We have to bring the 2000s back! Rawring 20s!" yet at the same time go "Normalize not vibing to the social construct of fetishizing systematic toxic stimulationing gaslighting so you can retrieve non-problematic mental vibes" like if your going to parade "Living in the 2000s" around then drop that 2022 talk. And if you aren't... Still drop it, it's stupid and you just sound like your trying too hard to sound smart, lol

this is one of my takes

people who have been in a subculture for a long time shouldn't berate younger/newer people in the subculture who are just trying to get a grasp on everything. Theres a difference between educating on a subculture and harassing people for not understanding.

OMG. i don't have my own hot take but i've been thinking this same thing for a while
it always annoys me a little to see people say they're like literally stuck in the 2000s xDDD but then turn around and talk like a fkin armchair expert who gets on twitter dot com to write a 14 tweet exposé on this months shitty makeup youtuber X___X
that language is one thing if you're writing an actual documentary, but if i accidentally stepped on your toe while we're going to hot topic or whatever i don't wanna hear "wow... that was really problematic. you need to hold yourself accountable for your deplorable actions if you ever want to regain my trust."

i miss 2002 when people knew how to talk casually about things that are bad

@vs_susie: i agree with the first three (3) but mgk is a literal p3d0ph1l3 and is probably an industry plant. also, he makes horrible music.

yungblud openly lies about how he grew up poor/working class when in fact he didn't - he literally went to a private school and grew up rich he's an industry plant. he's a full on poser & an industry plant. he even spat on his fans in the middle of the pandemic, is a complete poser and has collabed with MULTIPLE problematic/shitty people, let alone yb didnt even do anything when ksi's transphobic fans were sending death threats and deadnaming & misgendering his own fans. you just can't be part of any punk sub-culture and be racist, ableist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, etc... punk and its subcultures are against that stuff !!

yes there are people who dress punk or goth punk or folk punk or whatever or who listen to the music and say that they're still punk ,,,, they AREN'T !! punk is political !!! it always has been !! it always will be !!!!!

@gummilud: Truthful by any standard, my friend.. A good reading of Hegel and an understanding of enlightenment political economy are some of the cornerstones of the alternative community. Thank you for pointing this out! You cannot be alternative while ignoring the roots of alternative fashion and music in the scientific system developed by Hegel...

i was emo for years (wear decora and lolita now so im still "alt") ((also sorry if this has already been said!!)) but for years id heard people arguing that styles like decora, fairy kei, lolita, or literally so many other colorful and j-fashion styles arent alt and just...how?!?! alternative fashion is literally defined as fashion choices outside the normal "mainstream" styles! so for the love of gosh, stop gatekeeping alt fashion to just dark styles like goth/emo/punk, theres more out there than just that!

i feel like- for example, if you want to be goth- you must listen to the music (it doesn't have to be the only thing you listen to), dress that way (not all the time) or be interested in it if your unable to dress that way, and have the same political views and values- this is my hottest take @__@ whenever I mention this take i'd get called a gatekeeper or wutever-
