started in 2020 when I was sick with a heart condition. I continued creating because repetition is nice for me, but I never really wore the cuffs. i didn't do much until recently when I started making keychains again that I sell. i haven't really made much, but that's okay. keeping myself busy with little things like kandi making has always been a great hobby for me, and I love it to bits happy

5 reasons

1. Its fun

2. Its a good gift for anyone over 9. (depending on what it says ofc. In my opinion however, if its for a holiday or a birthday, a single just wont do. Unless its with smth else)

3. Im slowly starting to sell kandi

4. I think it looks cool

5. I like to trade

it's a fun craft to do, that's a lot easier to engage with and cheaper than many other crafts! Also I love the intense colors and fun color schemes you can get with the beads relatively easily, compared to trying to make complex color schemes with something like yarn when knitting. And ofc, the community is super open, supportive, and positive kao happy

It ticks a lot of boxes as a craft hobby. There are so many different ways to weave beads and string, and I love experimenting with how a certain stitch will be different if you change something. Its mistake friendly, if you mess up or decide you don't like it just cut the string and do it again, as opposed to some arts (painting, resin etc) where some errors aren't easily reversible. I love trading and giving pieces away, it's just really fun to be part of this friendly gift economy. It also gives me something to do with the finished pieces instead of them just taking up space in my room.

I like the outcome, there's sm to do with kandi. it's another creative outlet and gives me smth to do when I can't draw or write.

it gives me a sense of pride to have a skill. especially cos not lots of people know much about kandi and the techniques and ideas behind it.

I like PLUR and the sense of community. a lot of people who like kandi also like the same things I do (music, subculture, Fandom, art, ect)

it gives me something to do that's repetitive and mind-numbing. i often get upset very easily so it provides a distraction. i like wearing it because the pressure is calming. also if im stressed, i can look at the colors, chew on it, or play with the beads
