i swear nagito simps, kokichi simps, and toxic shippers are the reason the danganronpa fandom got a bad rep tbh

anyways, i really liked ultra despair girls, i mean it wasnt in the main danganronpa series, but it had some good characters

another thing is we got the first female protagonist that didnt die quickly ** kaede **, and its the whole reason toko became popular, she had more of a character in udg, and i also thought komaru was a cute protagonist, her personality went well with tokos

the udg kids were also interests, i wish they didnt have kotoko fanservice, but outside of that they were all good.

monaca, nagisa and kotoko were probably the ones whos backstories who we got the most info about, and i also think monaca was a good antagonist/villain, her character was actually well written for the most part, most people just kind of say shes evil and doesnt deserve sympathy then move on

when you think more abt her backstory it makes sense though. she felt left out, and was neglected and hated. A thing that happens to kids with neglect is acting out for attention * monaca pretending she had paralyzed legs *, and the neglect also explains why she valused junko so much, she was the only actual adult role modle she got, so it would make sense she followed her. she deserves just as much sympathy as the other kids
