soo... i have a really cool idea.

my 'fursona' is a cuttlefish cat thingy and doesn't have a mouth so i was thinking of making it into a dino mask instead because it'd still have that 'look' while also being breathable.

anyone have any tips before i commit to getting the materials?

also feel free to rant about your dinomasks in the comments! i really really love them and would love to hear about them!

have a good day! 5148b8c896030_cheer.gif

(oh also i saw a lil kitten outside with this adorable lil babyface and i felt y'all needed to know that)

Ok so heres a bunch of tips bc ive made losts of dino masks

1. If your doing ears, what i do is make a base out of aluminum foil then add a layer of gesso on top then the clay so that its the minimal weight

(or make it out of foam or styrafome first but wear a mask and be in a ventalated area when cutting. sanding things like that.)

2. Dont use paint for the white base color use white gesso it takes alot less coats

3. Make a model or use patterns online from the top view underneath view, and side view

4, For the eyes use plastic mesh or you could make a mesh by doing lines vertically and horazontally of hot glue ( Do it on parchment paper so it comes off the surface

5. To map out where everyting is going dont use pencil directly on the mask bc its hard to paint over bc its a dark color, instead use a light light light gray if your base is white, or just 1 shade darker of your base color

6. If you arent happy how the paint job came out, soak the mask in soapy water for 10-20 minutes then use the rough side of a sponge and soap to remove the paint instead of adding a bunch of layers of paint

7. Pls dont plaint of fur it ruins it. Instead if your just doing a little bit of color to like transition between two furrs use pastells then seal it by washing it.

8.make a toung insert to go onto the open part of the bottem of the mask (It helps with comfort alottttt) also theres alot of tuts on it just search raptor mask toung insert tutorial and sum should pop up

9. Dont glue on accesories direectly instead use velcro or make it into a clip to clip onto the furr

if u have any other quentions feel free to ask

@catnoirmybeloved: the kitten lived under my neighbors' house. don't worry though, there were bigger cats protecting the kitten

edit: the kitten also had two other kitten friends. also i couldn't get to the kitten if i tried so don't worry! the kitty is safe
