I LOVE my anime, the only shows I watch...besides Invader Zim and My Little Pony. Animated shows from Japan are anime...but you can get English Subbed or English Dubbed (same goes for any other language). But animated shows in the US are either cartoons..,or if they are anime shows but the character speak English, that's English Dubbed anime (Subbed being that the characters speak Japanese but there are English subtitles). I do consider Pokemon to be an anime...mainly because it's drawn in an anime/manga style. It's just very very popular, so I think that they milk it's popularity and keep it going for ages. But it's really the opinion of the viewer as to whether they think that it's an anime or a cartoon. But I do watch it online in Japanese so that makes it appear more anime-ish to me. I hope this helps =^.^=
