Knots

So I always use a square knot for everything, but I know most people use different knots for different things. It seems to work fine with just a square knot, so why use other types of knots?

i use square knots too but it really depends on the kind of string youre using. if you use clear string its best to use a surgical knot because its so slippery that a sqaure knot might come undone

i usually use square knots too, but surgical knots are better for clear elastic and the plastic cord i use for masks because it doesn't slip loose as often. the elastic with the fabric covering keeps knots well enough that the extra hold surgeon's knot gives isn't really needed imo
