Help with Tarot Cards

I got tarot cards for my birthday! I havent used them yet. Is there anything I should know or do before using them? Im currently researching how to use them and stuff, but are there any little extra things I should know?

Please only answer this question if you have used tarot cards at least a few times and have some sort of knowledge on them.

(A little bit more info if anyone needs it: Im pagan, and i’ve been practicing witchcraft for a little over year(or maybe longer). I mainly use crystals and plants in my practice(if thats the right term). I have multiple deities/patrons. I can also communicate with certain spirits. I also know basic things like how to get away negative nergy and negative spirits, and cleansing and charging things)

memorizing the cards and how they make you feel can be a huge part of fortune telling, starting with a simple 3 card spread can help so so much with identifying cards and getting practice in

hi! i've used tarot cards for a few years, and what i've learned is that relying on instinct is really important, like if you get a feeling about what a card could mean, try to go with it, but if you don't get a feeling, try doing some research on what the card means and don't force any insticts. remember that just because you didn't know/understand what the card meant right away docent mean you're any less of a pagan/witch! hope that helped and made sense haha

hi !! i've been using tarot cards for a few years !!

a good thing to do is an introductory spread for your cards ! it'll tell you about your cards !! since youre new at tarot i'd suggest trying a simple/smaller spread than a larger one.

another thing, the big spreads look really cool but its best to start with smaller spreads. they're easier to read and take less energy.

something i like to do is write my spreads & what cards i've drawn down. i'll list the question and what card[s] i've drawn, and the meaning of the card[s] so i can look back on it all later or as one big thing!!

[you dont have to do any of these though, they're all suggestions!! find what works best for you and your cards and be sure to cleanse them every once in a while !! ]

get to know them and cleans them if you let someone else use them, I let a friend of mine use one of my decks so much without cleansing it that they stopped working for me because the liked her better.

Actually listen to them, when they are trying to speak to you for fucks sake listen

They mostly give advice but sometimes you can get a glimpse into the future that's more of a forecast then a prediction, its changable and not garenteeed to happen but, like I said before, listen to them.
