I like jennifer pan's case, she was tortured mentally by her parents to the point where she lied about every aspect of her life to them to keep them happy. She had to get good grades, wasn't allowed to interact with boys, was pushed into the medical field against her will and at one point couldn't leave her house unless she was teaching piano. All this caused her to lie about her grades, fake report cards, faked finishing high school, hid her boyfriend from them and lie about getting a medical degree and a job doing bloodwork.

once her parents found out they got even stricter so she plotted with her boyfriend to have the two of them killed.

she once stated that she feels more free in jail than she ever could with her parents.

I cannot remember what the case was called but there was an episode about it in the Netflix series unsolved mysteries I think? The episode is called a murder in Oslo and it is so interesting. Also I haven’t heard of the hello kitty case, what was it??

cults are super super interesting to me. idk if they found as like a “favorite crime case” but the ones that end badly are so interesting!! jonestown and heaven’s gate are two of my favorites to learn about.

I forgot what the case was called- but It's the one where these 9 hikers went, well. hiking. and they were found with the tent tore open from inside out- I recommend looking It up yourself bc i can't really go into it but its so interesting and it's still unsolved! !!
