I need help! Am I faking tics orrr?

So I never really have had tics until a few months ago. I started getting them around the time I started seeing them more in the internet. A few months later I have a variety of them that just keep happening no matter how hard I try to stop. I’ll forget about them for a few hours, then I’ll remember them and have a bunch of them. They started kind of random and not too often but now I’m ticcing a LOT.
Here’s a small compilation of my tics

My vocal ones are saying “nya” in a quiet voice, saying “fuck” somewhat quietly to somewhat loudly, and saying “sorry” quietly-normally.

My physical ones are jerking my head to the side, front, or back, doing the middle finger with both hands, and full body spasms.

The reason I believe I might be faking it is cause a lot of these tics I saw on the internet before I started doing them, and whenever I see someone discuss their tics/tic I mimic it (not purposefully) so please please please help!!!!! I’m so confused

Edit: I forgot to mention I’m diagnosed with ADHD, and I am suspicious I might have autism. I also have anxiety

I would check with your doctor. if you take any meds it could be side effects from that. and they could just be stress tics. I had a bunch of those a year ago and the more I handled the stress they went away.

Well it might be that you dont have tics, but maybe you have functional movement disorder that can be a result from stress, anxiety or deppression that has not been diagnosed.

P.S(I would still recommend checking in with a medical professional however, its better to be safe Tics or not)

@Pancakeghoul: you can have tics without Tourettes

people without a specific tic related syndrome can still get tics, usually small ones though. they could be anxiety related, especially if youre under chronic stress a lot. the nervous system misfiring signals because stress and anxiety

I had the same thing and it like went away I guess but every once in a while they just freak out and I can't function for a few minutes. I still don't know what it is though

If You Are Self-Aware Enough To Ask If You Are Faking Then You Probably Aren't. People Who Fake Tics Don't Ask Things Like That. Sometimes They Just Develop Like That And You Don't Need A Whole Tic Disorder To Have Tics. You Are Valid <3

Hi there!! So I've actually had this same thing happen to me too, I have ADHD and anxiety but no Tourette's diagnosis, and my tics started about a year after my hyperfixation on Tourette's, so I thought I was faking it. Here's the thing tho: our brains can just pick stuff up like that. I'd really recommend talking to a psych or your doctor because it's still possible you could have a tic disorder, but tics can come from anxiety and ADHD as well. And the really interesting thing about tics is that they get worse when you think about them, and that's true even for people with diagnosed tic disorders. So if they mostly only come when you think about them, that's normal!! Again, just make sure you talk to your doctor or a psych about it if you're concerned as I don't know your exact situation so it could be the beginning signs of a tic disorder. I wish you luck!
