Don't buy the first things you see unless it's a crazy good price on a grail or small and cheap (like a badge). Prices may drop as tthe con ends and dealers don't want to pack stuff up again. Water and snacks -- BUT do not eat or drink near sellers or artists. If you get tired but don't want to go back to the hotel, find a spot out of traffic and people watch. Learn where the bathrooms are before you need them. Bring a shopping bag because most dealers will not have bags. If you plan on buying prints, bring something to keep them flat. Write your badge number down somewhere in case you lose it. Bring a notebook. Dealers will love you if you are patient. You may meet a few folks who don't understand "no" and it is okay to make a fuss to get away from them. If someone looks like they need help, it's okay to ask if they need a hand or there's always the classic JODY! WE'RE LATE FOR THE THING! to offer an escape. Walking shoes. Bandaids. Phone charger. Travel deoderant. Hand sanitizer.

bring enough water to not need to get more, at the con i went to every water fountain was broken. what we ended up doing was freezing some water bottles so they would melt throughout the day and bam! cold water all day. When I went I wore a ton of kandi on one of the days and when someone said they liked my kandi I gave them a piece! it was super fun! i would also say take cues from the vibe around you, the con I went to had a very chill vibe where people would shout at you across the hall about liking your cosplay or outfit or literally whatever. Everyone was super positive so prepare yourself for positive attention >:3

Don't be afraid to ask a cosplayer for a picture most of the time they'll be happy to and take it as a compliment, but if they say no just respectfully say ok and leave, I also suggest not touching them with out consent

Hi!! I’ve been to plenty of comic cons, so here’s my advice!

  • Make sure you shower/bathe the night before or the day of the con- it’s always ideal to be clean before you attend a con since there’s a LOT of people all in one place. Bring deodorant, too!
  • Remember that cosplay does not equal consent. Always ask someone permission before you take their picture and don’t try to treat them as the character they’re dressed up as if they don’t seem cool with it. If they don’t want a picture, then that’s that, don’t pester them.
  • Again, just because someone is dressed as your favorite character, don’t touch them without consent! Asking beforehand is always the best thing to do.
  • The food court is always crowded and expensive, so either bring snacks and water with you or eat before/after or during con (you can leave, but you’ll have to show your wristband for verification)
  • Since there’s a lot of people, it’s always hot and stuffy, so make sure you take breaks and get some fresh air, rest your feet cause mine always hurt whenever I leave
  • Things can happen, so make sure you bring things that can fix your cosplay (if needed!)
  • If you bring a bag, you may or may not (I’m pretty sure it’ll be checked) have it searched, so be weary of that.

That’s all I can think of, I hope you have a good time! mariocar

I would suggest bringing some form of hygiene product (like deodorant or something) since cons can get really hot even if there inside

and its always good to know you smell nice- since some people at cons tend to not pay attention to stuff like that kao sad

ofc this is a definite oppositional thing though, I just suggest it (I also bring atleast a small thing of perfume with me if im going to a con)

I hope u have fun!! heart bounce /p
