so, im starting an online shop for my kandi soon, and i was thinking about doing patterned stuff! i see people selling patterned cuffs all the time, and then it hit me that not everyone will want their patterns used for stuff that's being sold. i personally wouldn't have a problem with it for my own patterns, they're free to use and people can do what they want with them. i know a lot of others dont mind, too. but i was wondering how i should go about selling patterned cuffs; if i should ask permission, if i should just list it and say that if the pattern creator wants it taken down i'll take it down, anything like that. just not sure, you know? anyways, if you guys could give some advice that would be great 633f17443f243_tbh_jump.gif im really excited for my shop to get set up! 633f17443ded0_tbh_confetti.gif

@Karmantica: this is correct about the pattern use policy, but I personally never enforce it. It’s just set up that way in case an individual pattern creator does have a problem with it. Also, you can’t legally sell patterns which have trademarked characters on them, so beware of that.

It's against the policy of this site to use the patterns on here for stuff you're going to sell. If you scroll to the bottom of the page there's a section that's called Pattern Use Policy and it makes it really clear that you are not allowed to use the patterns here for profit. The only way around that would be asking every creator if you can use their patterns.

i think if its a very universally used pattern you prolly dont need permission? but for more specific things u should ask the og creator! gl with ur kandi shop kao smileheart bounce

I think when using other ppl patterns just credit them and put there user in the list or do something like that thumbsup

i think you should ask the pattern makers just to see their opinions on it! i honestly don't think most people would mind, but that could just be me laugh

I would ask. But, Like Flint said, It depends. So, you should just ask. And, dont forget to give credit! XwX

That may be a person-by-person thing, but I know that I wouldn't mind having patterns that I've made sold, if I've published them then they're free to use. It may be a good idea to just ask the individual pattern makers so you know where they stand. blush

I think it really depends. If it's something simple like a pride flag or smth then no, but if that person clearly took time and effort on it then absolutely
