hair sensory issues

so my hair has been giving me bad sensory issues lately and my mom hasnt found a good barber shop to get it cut at yet, and i dont know what to do about it. i dont have any hair ties or hair clips that work well, and i've tried making kandi hair ties but they suck since my hair is just barely long enough to tie into a very short ponytail. my mom could trim my hair but she cant do the full cut i want herself. i really dont know how to deal with this :[ (also my mom does not know i think im autistic, she just thinks i wanna cut my hair cus gender euphoria and stuff and that is partly the truth but also my hair just really overwhelms me sometimes.)

@xylonstinksXDDD: would do that but the last few times i got my hair cut they just gave me a pixie cut, i want an actually masculine cut and thats why its been taking so long to find a good barber shop (plus its hard to find an lgbtq+ friendly one since i live in a state where people are really religious)

ive cut my hair short and grown it a few times over the years, and i like to use elastic/fabric headbands to help hold the hair back! i find it does help to especially keep back any strands that dont get caught in a hair tie!

not autistic (at least i dont think i am) but i had to deal with this a lot so i just got my hair cut shorter and it worked, my advice is to ask if you have any cousins that do hair or just go to like a normal haircut place and show them a picture of what you want but if your worried they will cut it short try showing them a picture of it being a little longer then maybe if they dont screw up you can ask someone (or do it on ur own) to clean it up and make it look how u want it^^

Could gel or something help until you can cut it?

yeah my hair used to give me a lot of sensory issues, too (because of a mix of autism and some dry skin issue on my scalp causing itchy feeling) tho since then Ive just completely buzzed my head O.o
