the site keeps on saying that there's a site error

i refreshed my site and it said that there was a site error and i kept on trying to open it up in a new tab but it just kept on saying error. Is there something going on with the actual website or is my computer being wack?

Sorry, you are unable to reply. If the thread is still open, you might have been blocked from commenting due to spam or abuse, or we might not have been able to verify that you are a real account. Try updating your profile and interacting more on the site. There are greater restrictions on forum comments due to spam. Spam comments will still not be published, even for verified accounts

I just checked the server CPU logs and there was a drastic dip in CPU usage earlier today, so it does seem like there was some type of bump which kicked people off. It looks like it might have been a network issue because connections in also dipped. If it was just a server-side error, I think we'd still see the same number of connections coming in. Considering that my host was reporting network issues yesterday, I have a feeling that this might have been related. If it happens again, I'll ask them.

Everyone saying that there is maintenance coming up is correct, but I am actually not doing any maintenance today. It will almost always be on a weekend (unless I have time booked off from work) and when possible I’ll try to put a little notice up beforehand, along the top of the site. Does anyone have any other detail other than “site error”? Did it have an error number?

It might be related to some of the maintenance that I need to do though. I’ve just checked the services we use to see if any of those went down today, but so far it doesn’t seem like they did.

It didnt happen to me, because i just wasn't on, But yeah, Crumpet said she was planning a little bit ago that she was going to work on the website, due to the code being old, and the site has been getting glitches and such cuz of the old code, so shes fixing it, so I'm not surprised it said "there was a site error"

Crumpet said a month or 2 ago that she was going to be doing work on the site, thats why the site went down for the short while(at least i think thats why). it happened to me too
