i love the old videos and pics of cosplayers at conventions from like 2006-2014 because they look like they're actually having fun and letting loose without being judged, but cons now you don't really get to interact with people like I feel like you just take a picture with them, get their tiktok username and that's it. like what about everyone doing the carmeldansen where did that energy go ? ? ?

but tbh I've only been to two cons and both are really small, so idk but what the heck i wanna be cringe!!!!!!!!

I’ve only been to one small basically anime con (it was supposed to be a comic con but anime took its big leap in popularity this was quite a bit ago). Tbh the con was not the best experience as a person who has never been to a con, as it was roaming with MHA cosplayers who would scream that stupid todoroki Shrek song it was awful (and they would also hog all of the vendors and block the hallways). There were panels as well but I don’t think the people who were running the panels knew how many people they would get and what to do with their time. I think In the future when I get some more money I’ll aim for a furcon and go hopefully with some furry friends^^ (that was a lot now reading it oops)

Because a bunch of people still participate in cringe culture and make fun of people for their cosplays ;//

the only con ive really been to was a veryyyy small one that happened to be in a mall near me. i think the most fun thing is supporting the artists there, hanging out with friends, anddd shitty mall food kao posh ive never been to a big convention and i probably won't unless i get dragged to one by my more fandom-active friends but cons seem like the type of thing that are to be enjoyed with a large-ish group of people that you're already friends with, otherwise it's just wandering around a crowded hallway. aka- they're what you make of them. but i definitly agree i wish the idea of meeting and actually hanging out with new people at cons was more than "getting their social media username"
