as the title says, I need help convincing my parents to let me get a septum piercing. My mum says she's fine with it, same for step dad, not sure about step mum (I think 98% chance of saying yes) but my dad isn't 100% sold on it. He says I'm "too young" (wont say age but over 13) but will let me get a side nose piercing?? I've had many piercings over the years and took good care of them all, help out around the house alot, and never really ask for anything. I'm quite mature for my age but still isn't sold?? He even admitted to me doing all this stuff?? Plus, I'll be paying with MY own money I got from doing jobs 513b3952851d7_shrug.gif any help will be appreciated!!

Ok so something that will be a useful tool is asking for something your parents would be appalled at, then asking for the thing you want. Like Ask for a piercing he would 100% say no to, then ask for a septum. It will make asking for a septum be wayy more tamehkphone

id definitely bring up that theyre super easy to heal, dont hurt too much, dont go through cartilage, and are really easy to hide

one of my selling points with my parents for the septum piercing is that it's inside the nose so if you decide you don't want it anymore, you won't see the scarring or any leftover hole, also if you have the right type of ring you can flip it up to look more "professional" and hide it, which you can't do easily with other facial piercings. my septum piercing was also super quick and super painless, like literally getting my ears pierced hurt more, so it's safe and easy. the healing process also only took about 4 months and the worst part was spraying shit in my nose lmao, so once again, easy peasy-- you don't touch your nose much so there's not a lot of room to like, hurt it or screw it up.

it seems like it's less about not thinking that you can get a piercing and more about him just being concerned about the specific piercing you want so try to show that a septum piercing is a great beginner piercing because it's easily reversible, the healing process isn't too long, and it's relatively painless.

hope this helps!
