Sometimes it's hard seeing past all of the horrible stuff so I want to hear some of your positive trans stories/experiences!

once when i was getting bullied they were calling me ma’am and i was trying to disengage the situation with humour and i said “that’s sir to you!”

they continued to bully me while respecting my pronouns crying

at work once, my bosses called me their boy! i was learning a new skill and they said “LOOK AT OUR BOY GO!” it was one of the best experiences

my dad and i were on a road trip to a music festival and we stopped to get starbucks and use the bathroom. it was a one-person bathroom and my dad had to go first and the women’s was occupied, so i just waited outside. when my dad came out of the bathroom, i kept waiting, and he gave me a weird look before gesturing over to the men’s room— basically telling me “the bathroom is open?? this is your bathroom??” on the same trip he also was talking about hrt and he said “if you choose to”, when before he had completely discouraged the idea

on a completely different trip with my dad (we do a lot of road trips together, LOVE my dad!!) we were walking around in chicago, it was father’s day, and we passed a guy handing out candy and he said “happy father’s day to you gentlemen!” it was the first time i’d ever been gendered correctly in public!

once my grandma came over and she told me that one of her friends was trans, and they just found themselves after a long time, and she apologized to me because, as she put it, it took her friend coming out to want to learn more but not her grandson, which meant a lot to me and led to an hour long conversation about gender and what it means to be trans

my creative writing/digital media teacher is really amazing, he always gets super excited when we include trans characters in our stories and says that he wants to hear more trans stories. i was also complaining about my binder to a friend once and he overheard and was like “i’m sorry, i’ve heard it’s hard to breathe in those things” and i was like “yepppp can’t take deep breaths anymore” and he was so sympathetic about it

and finally, all of my friends have forgotten or don’t ever process the fact that i’m afab

i’m incredibly blessed

one time me and my brother went to the pool and I was feeling insecure bc I felt like my swimsuit made me look super feminine (I’m ftm) but as he was trying to pull me into the crazier part of the lazy river a stranger came up and was like “do you want me to help pull him in?” And even though it was just a funny situation I was super happy inside that they gendered me correctly dance

Im ftm and i was on a debate VC on Discord and debating with this conservative guy but he was still nice enough to call me boy and young man and stuff. That was the first time and one of the only times a conservative supported me... I also recently befriended a kid my age who doesnt support Lgbt but said if i was lgbt he wouldnt care and would support me anyways... a little bit wholesome ig. I like to see people change and I think that my friend would change for me. small but made me a little happy.

a year or so ago i was getting some free clothes from a back to school giveaway type thing and this sweet old lady said to the other old lady that was there "this young man is looking for flannels" and i was so happy cuz it wasnt too long after i had come out and i was still really uncertain if i could pass as a boy so big grin

and just this last halloween my friend and i went to this other old lady's door and after she gave us candy she said "you boys have a good time" :333

one of my closest friends is a cis guy, and he's always been really sweet about using my preferred name and pronouns. he's really affectionate as well but he stopped using super feminine nicknames and started calling me champ when i started being more open about my identity sobs /pos
