feeling childish for my interests :[

does anyone else have interests that you feel ashamed for or embarrassed about because other people treat them as childish or silly? im really interested in sharks, fortnite, and overwatch, but im often laughed at for these interests because people either think im joking when i say I like them or they think its silly :[

i dont even think those things are particularly "childish," but even if they were theres nothing wrong with that! i know it sucks when ppl make fun of the stuff u like, but the fact that it makes u happy is whats most important! i dont think there should be any kind of age limit on interests, and people who think that are the silly ones. take it from someone who still adores pokemon, fnaf, monster high, and has a huge stuffed animal collection at 24 lol

yep, my interests are very childish and i get really embarrassed to actually tell people about myself. i like sharks just like u and cats a little too much for people's comfort. i also collect squishmallows and fill my bed with them which really embarrasses me but i love them and i find comfort in them so i keep them there. also my favorite things to watch are typically cartoons/animes or animated films and people often find that childish so i keep it to myself ( :
